- Abstract
By incorporation of silica fume, magnesium oxychloride cement(MOC) with high water-resistance property can be formed. Here, the effects of silica fume on compressive strength, water-resistance property, hydration product and microstructure were investigated. X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy were used to examine the hydration products of MOC. The experimental results indicated that by incorporating silica fume in the MOC, the water resistance improved, although the compressive strength decreased.
