In order to provide evidences for improving the level of college students’ mental health, this study investigated the characteristics and relationships between school identity and self-esteem of the college students in Jiangxi province. College students’ school identity(M = 96.60, SD = 14.11) and self-esteem(M = 30.06, SD = 3.92) were to the level of medium on the high side in Jiangxi province; School identity and self-esteem had significantly positive correlation(r = 0.383,p < 0.01); The score of school identity in gender and student types had no obvious differences (p > 0.05), but it was distinctly different in school types (F = 8.059, p < 0.001); The score of self-esteem had no significant differences in gender and school types (p > 0.05), but striking difference existed in student types(t = 2.183, p < 0.05). School identity is closely related to self-esteem, and the level of students’ self-esteem can be improved by enhancing their sensation of school identity.
