Abstract

The purpose of this study is to find out how the social development of children during a pandemic is based on the form of parenting given by parents.. This study will explore the importance of understanding social development in early childhood thoroughly and deeply. The social skill that should be developed in early childhood is building relationship and a good interaction with the surrounding environment, also adaptation ability to environment. Parenting patterns are needed during the pandemic in the process of developing early childhood social development, because parenting greatly determines the developmental aspects of children. This study formulates the application of parenting styles in children’s social development during the Covid 19 pandemic. This research is a literature review that examines parenting styles and child social development, which collects relevant references, from journals, books and newspapers. The results in this study determine that social development in early childhood during a pandemic can be developed effectively through the understanding of parents in providing parenting patterns for children.
