- Abstract
A linear equations related to the position errors of the contact point on the tooth surface and the mounting errors was derived from calculating total differential of equations of meshing. The sensitivity of gears mounting errors to contact point position errors was studied by means of the singularity of the linear equations; the condition number of the resultant matrixes is used to evaluate the integrated effect of gears mounting errors to contact point position errors. The developed method was illustrated with numerical examples
