- Abstract
The article attempts to expand the traditional interpretation of the concept of "Discovery of America". The author emphasizes the necessity of expanding the concept beyond geographical, political, and economic contexts, carrying out the transition from the linguistic to cultural and philosophical point of consideration. The author poses a question of the concept's cultural and historical significance, revealing its close connection with the solution of the issue of self-determination of the subject, involved in world history.
