- Abstract
In order to understand the rule of water, temperature and deformation in the process of frost heaving and thawing settlement, carry out the soil column model experiment, record the change of temperature, moisture and deformation during the experiment, draw the line chart and analyze the process of soil column freezing and thawing. By analyzing the curve of freezing depth and freezing rate over time in soil column, the freezing process of soil column can be divided into three stages: rapid freezing, transition freezing and stable freezing. And according to the curve of the deformation and the moisture with time during freezing, it is concluded that when the soil column is in the transitional freezing stage, it will produce a large deformation of frost heaving. By analyzing the deformation curve during the melting process, it can be divided into three stages: rapid deformation stage, slow deformation stage and stable stage.
