- Abstract
GPS-based navigation has been the go to approach for outdoor navigation systems/applications whereas is deemed ineffective and unreliable in indoor environments. An ideal indoor navigation system requires extensive hardware installations and high setup costs. In this paper, we present FoodFlare a cost effective indoor navigation guidance system for retail environment implementation that minimises the need of human assistance and the need of existing static maps. The proposed system uses the existing sensors built in a mobile device like camera, gyroscope, accelerometer, magnetometer and integrates with Augmented Reality to provide the user with a fluid experience.
