Abstract

Organizational Citizenship Behavior (OCB) is a scientific exploration delving into the behaviors encompassing willingness, sincerity, and actions aligned with job and organizational success. Despite its profound implications, OCB remains underappreciated by the broader society, finding recognition primarily within academic circles dedicated to the study of foundational sciences. Intriguingly, OCB is deeply ingrained in the intricate fabric of every individual functioning within the realm of employment. Pioneering research by BARRICK & MOUNT (1991) investigated the correlation between personality factors, notably Conscientiousness, and work performance. Their findings underscored Conscientiousness as a robust predictor of commendable job performance. The study, employing a descriptive quantitative approach and employing regression analysis, delves into the nexus between the Conscientiousness variable and the performance of Bank BRI KC Maros employees. The outcomes of the t test conclusively affirm that the Conscientiousness variable exerts a positive and statistically significant influence on the performance levels of the employees. This research illuminates the pervasive impact of conscientious behavior on organizational effectiveness, advocating for a broader societal recognition of the vital role played by OCB in professional success.
