- Abstract
Doctor-patient Relationship Discourse for Health Communication involve the orientation of expected audience, the subject of communication, the generation of discourse and the efficacy of communication. Documentary Two Hundred Years of Surgery is characterized by the combination of science and humanistic approach, the adoption of voice narration, image narration, video narration of doctors and patients to facilitate the communication between physicians and patients, between physician groups and the family of patients, and between the medical professionals and the society. Importantly, the science, humanity and limitations of medicine are conveyed. Documentary Two Hundred Years of Surgery plays an important part in passing on medical knowledge, improving public health literacy, health concept and encouraging the public adopting healthier lifestyle. More importantly, Documentary Two Hundred Years of Surgery contributes to building of doctor-patient partnership & alliance by narrowing the gap between clinicians and patients.
