- Abstract
We synthesized an imidazole carboxylic acid-nickel complex, characterized its structure, and transmitted it to P. martensii via dietary algal supplementation. Nacre color was characterized using colorimetry, and its microstructure was observed with scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and atomic force microscopy (AFM). The results show that the nacre formed exhibited a blue shift from yellow in the control group to yellow-green in the nickel complex group. The nickel complex could modify and optimize the nacre. This study provides a theoretical basis of how the acid-metal complex influences P. martensii nacre.
