- Abstract
Motet was an important polyphonic genre which rose in the Thirteenth Century. For hundreds of years, its form has evolved continuously, so there is no clear definition. We should put it in a specific period and understand it with the background of the times, not just giving a general concept. According to the historical evolution of motets, this article makes a brief analysis on the development of motets after 1750, combining with Mozart's two motets.
