Abstract

This article takes “Journey to the West” as an example to discuss the selection of characters, the characteristics of the characters, and the causes of the characters. It focuses on the interpretation of how did the marginal survivors such as Sun Wukong and Zhu Bajie to achieve self-realization in the novel "Journey to the West", as well as the unique aesthetic effects brought by this approach.
