Abstract

This study investigates the Yogyakarta “Sultan Ground” land case, exploring the possible connection between corruption offenses and the land mafia. This study investigates the tangible outcomes of land grabbing through normative legal research, specifically focusing on the “Sultan Ground” case. The findings indicate that although the state financial law system has limitations in recognizing the assets of “Sultan Ground,” the Sultanate of Yogyakarta, as a local government entity, can tackle corruption issues related to the land mafia. The report underscores the cultural heritage at risk due to the ongoing land acquisition, underscoring the necessity for stronger legal foundations to pursue allegations of corruption. Implementing measures, such as employing the criminal justice system to safeguard “Sultan Ground” assets outside of state property limits, is based on the research’s suggestions.
