- Abstract
The events of the First World War and revolutionary changes in Russia revealed new features of socio-historical reality: its intensive variability and practical absence of repeatability, a large number of significant variables, the impossibility of experimenting with full control over conditions, increased difficulties in testing hypotheses and the lack of an adequate methodological platform. A.L. Chizhevsky was the first to formulate the natural historical concept of the world-historical process, which embodied a trend of synthesis of sciences and opened a new chapter in the "dispute over methods." Modern research fills the conceptual approaches of the Russian scientist with concrete content.
