Exploration and Practice of Teaching Reform of Fire Engineering Course under the New Form of College Teaching Reform

- Abstract
Fire prevention and disaster reduction in daily life is closely related to college students. As an elective course, fire engineering should be gradually established for the whole university. The disadvantages of the current teaching methods for fire engineering under the new form of university education reform appear early. First of all, several problems faced in the reform of the fire engineering curriculum under the new reforms have been elaborated. The practice and exploration of the fire engineering curriculum reform in the new form has been proposed. The main ideas including that Problem-based teaching methods are established, teachers should focus on method explanations, and heuristic and discussion-based teaching methods are developed., In addition students’ perceptual knowledge is strengthened, student enthusiasm and interest are improved, and students’ ability to innovate is enhanced; finally, the emphasis on fire engineering should be enhanced, and the support for school education funds should be increased. The research results can provide some help to improve the interest and enthusiasm of college students in learning fire engineering courses.
