- Abstract
The Chinese Kunqu Opera "Romance of the Western Chamber" (“Xi Xiang Ji” in Chinese), a classic work containing rich essence, has played a leading and evergreen role in the opera stage of the Ming and Qing Dynasties and even later generations. It caters to people's aesthetic taste and is in line with Li Yu's theory of "Three Beauties" and Zhang Geng’s aesthetic theory of "Three Topics”. Based on these theories of aesthetics, the author analyzes from the perspective of opera aesthetics by combining various materials, and holds that the Kunqu Opera "Romance of the Western Chamber" has the beauty of "Three-dimensional View" of opera, that is, the beauty of exquisite opera writing, of magnificent performance and of combination of form and spirit, which can be regarded as the model of Chinese classical opera aesthetics.
