Abstract

Local wisdom is a community tradition that can produce its own experience and may not be experienced by other communities. One form of Jambi Malay local wisdom is the marriage custom, namely Seloko, which is an old literary form known as an oral tradition that is produced, disseminated and passed down from generation to generation. Seloko local wisdom can be integrated into learning in elementary schools because it contains the useful character of loving the motherland and is included in the eighteen characters that must be developed in elementary school-age children. Flip html5 is an electronic teaching material that can be used as a support for learning in class as an effort to attract students’ attention so that they are enthusiastic about learning. The research method used is a qualitative descriptive method that describes the results of the research. This model is defined as a model whose presentation is carried out in a simple way.Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be seen that the formation of patriotic character in fifth grade elementary school students can instill an attitude of love for the motherland, participate in preparing a cultured golden generation, by upholding the values of patriotism and seriousness in preserving local wisdom. Based on the results of the research conducted, it can be concluded that character education in the love of the motherland character values applied in the Batanghari community can have a very large impact on the formation of the personality and character of students.
