Abstract

Through investigation of local enterprises, teachers and students, this paper finds out some problems like students’ low learning initiative, unreasonable curriculum weight, less practical teaching, outdated teaching materials, etc of applied English major in five-year higher vocational curriculum design. In addition, it puts forward some countermeasures such as motivating students’ interest, adopting new teaching ideas and methods, bringing in appropriate teaching materials, etc to promote the continuous development of teaching reform.
