- Abstract
We investigate formation of the architecture ensembles of the Orthodox monasteries in the Russian North in the modern conditions of increasing number of tourists and pilgrims. We analyze six the most frequently visited monasteries, reveal their common and specific problems. On the basis of this analysis we formulate the general principles and approaches of reconstruction and development that are applicable to any monastery.
