Abstract

The article attempts to identify the relationship between higher education and various areas of post-Soviet society. In this connection, questions are posed: is education capable of changing society? And under what conditions does society have a positive impact on education that forms social capital? Who is the leader in tandem education-society? Where is society going? Where is education going? What should it teach students? Why and for whom does it train specialists? What are the principles of the relationship between education and society? What are the trends of change and the dominant direction of their movement towards a new configuration of relations in the context of non-linear development?
