- Abstract
The aim of the paper is to verify the structural changes in the Russian higher education for their compliance with the lean management principles. The analysis of the main challenges and threats arising in Russian higher education as a result of the structural transformation of universities through mergers and acquisitions is proposed. The viability of alternative approaches associated with the formation of educational clusters and network structures that facilitate the hierarchical management of large universities and the process of delegation of authority is noted.
