- Abstract
The 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China proposes to advocate prosperity, democracy, civilization, harmony, freedom, equality, justice, rule of law, patriotism, dedication, honesty, friendliness, and actively cultivate and practice the core values of socialism. General Secretary Xi Jinping has on several important occasions proposed to integrate socialist core values into the ideological and political education of college students. As an important part of ideological and political education in colleges and universities, socialist core values not only meet the needs of the development of the times, but also enhance the effectiveness of ideological and political education in colleges and universities. We need to persist in educating people with all personnel, covering all teachers and students and all teachers and students by cultivating and practicing the core values of socialism, forming ideological education, cultural education, teaching and educating people, practicing and educating people, managing and educating people, the situation of serving and educating people into one. By using scientific methods of ideological and political education and exploring scientific educational strategies in the concrete practice, the function of socialist core values can be brought into full play, and students' ideological and political literacy can be really promoted
