Abstract

Smart power is a new theory of national development strategy born in the early 21st century. It has rich historical and realistic connotations. In view of the universal significance of smart power itself, the author will analyze the concept of smart power in contemporary China from the historical origin, realistic foundation, strategic necessity, long-term nature and the existing objective performance. It can be seen that the great achievements China has made in the past 60 years since the founding of the People's Republic, especially in the past 40 years of reform and opening up, complement each other with the strategy of smart power.
