- Abstract
The article substantiates a theoretical approach to studying the new industrial cities. It presents the methodology for their selection based on the use of data on the level of development of the city’s industry, its contribution to the region-wide performance indicators, as well as the nature of industrial products being manufactured. A hypothesis that regional competitiveness depends on the presence of new industrial cities in the region is put forward and proven.
