- Abstract
Education is undergoing processes of change, accentuated during the COVID-19 pandemic, highlighting the importance of developing competencies that ensure effective educational processes, such as digital competencies, which allow teachers to adapt to different learning environments. The objective of this research is to diagnose the digital competencies of secondary school teachers in a private educational institution in Ecuador. An observation rubric was used in classroom visits and a diagnostic instrument was applied, which is broken down into dimensions (5), subcompetencies (7), standards (17) and performance indicators (41). The research participants were 21 teachers: 12 women and 9 men. It is concluded that teachers have a level of mastery or development of digital competencies from medium to low level, which shows the need to design several training actions for teachers.
