Abstract

Based on analysis of hydrocarbon resource potential, geological structure aspects and results of geological survey in the North-Caucasus oil-bearing province, first-priority directions and targets of geological exploration works are suggested in order to accelerate the preparation of discovered hydrocarbon reserves in the medium-term perspective. The key issue is speeding up the process of research drilling on prepared geological targets of Dagestan shelf of the Caspian, which has considerable resources of hydrocarbons.
