Abstract

The essence of linguistics is the humanities, and humanity is one of the essential features of linguistics. Language expresses human life and embodies humanistic spirit, which is concerned about human value, dignity, morality, belief, individuality, etc. Paying attention to language and humanities in the field of education, it will be a must to pay full attention to the cultivation of humanistic spirit and the construction of humanistic quality in the process of language learning. This paper will take the two key words of "humanities" and "tools" from the perspective of college English teaching, and clarify the value orientation of college English teaching. On this basis, it analyzes the necessity and significance of the construction of humanistic quality in college English language learning, and puts forward feasible countermeasures to promote the construction of humanistic quality and language learning in college English teaching to achieve a win-win situation.
