- Abstract
Children aged 5-6 years should have the ability to to express their wishes verbally. Nevertheless, most of child aged 5-6 years in Karawang Regency still unnable to express their wishes because lack the confidence to tell stories and afraid to argue. The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of paper plate media in stimulating expressive language skills on children aged 5-6 years. This study used a one group pretest and posttest experimental design involving 20 children aged 5-6 years from Karawang Regency. The data analyzed using T-Test technique. The results showed that paper plate media had an effect on increasing expressive language in children aged 5-6 years by 40%. Paper plate media is a factor that plays an important role because it is attracted for children. This is shown by 8 of 20 children aged 5-6 years who are more confident about telling stories using paper plate media. Paper plate media is an appropriate teaching aids for stimulating expressive language for children aged 5-6 years. This property may be effective to utilized in kindergarten.
