- Abstract
The present article attempts to explore and discuss conceptual metaphors and metonymies for emotions in the Chinese language with regard to the role of the body in emotions. The study on emotion metaphors and metonymies enables us to see how people of a given culture or dif-ferent cultures conceptualize and verbal-ize their emotions, given that the nature of the human body and its physiology are presumably universal.
