- Abstract
This study aims to investigate the constructs and format of schedules, built by local television media in compiling the pattern of religious program aired, using a qualitative descriptive approach, where data was collected by interviewing and documenting. The location used includes, Banyumas TV, Semarang TV, Kebumen TV, Simpang 5 TV Pati, and TVKU Semarang. The investigation was conducted, involved content analysis, using the following parameters (1) economic and political forces (political economy approach), (2) media managers, as active parties in the production process (organizational approach) and (3) The combination of various internal and external factors of the media (cultural approach). The results, therefore, indicated that the approach of internal and external factors was more dominant than the economic-political approach and media managers. The construct of the holiday of Muslims on Friday as well as the hours of worship, enhanced the choice of placing a lot of Islamic religious programs on Friday, especially at the times religious people worshiped. The sacralization of the day and the time of worship are the main factors in determining the day and hour of religious programs.
