- Abstract
This study was aimed to map the difficulties of teachers in understanding the characteristics of students, and find strategies in understanding the characteristics of students. The study used a qualitative descriptive method, how to collect data by interview. Study documents, and focus group discussions. The results of the study show that the difficulty of teachers in understanding the characteristics of students is the condition of students who are diverse in terms of emotions, social, economic and intellectual, lack of information and cooperation with parents.
