- Abstract
In this paper, a new kind of porous metal fiber sintered sheet (PMFSS) with high porosity was fabricated with cutting stainless steel fiber. And heat transfer experiments were conducted to investigate the effect of porosity and flow rate on the heat transfer properties of PMFSS. Metal fibers formed a three-dimensional reticulated structure and numerous connected micro pore structures in the PMFSS during the sintering process Test results showed that the heat transfer coefficient of the PMFSS increases with the increasing flow rate and 80% porosity sample shows the best performance. And the pressure drop increases with the decreasing porosity. Finally, comprehensive heat transfer coefficient of the material was investigated, and the 90% porosity shows the best performance.
